Bug Description

When I attempt to play an mp3 with xfmedia, it will not play it, it will just skip quickly through the song without playing anything. An error message come up and let the user know that the file can't be played.

Also, how can you enable mp3 support with xfmedia?

I'm not sure that this is a bug. I've used several players which react in the same way with mp3 files.

I've seen players do this with broken mp3 files. I guess we should
include a real music player in xubuntu, as xfmedia was primarily written for video.

This is not a bug (although I agree that it is a pain), check out http://wiki.ubuntu.com/RestrictedFormats for instructions on enabling MP3 playback. Due to patent issues support for the MP3 format cannot be included within the distribution.

i'm sorry but i reject this bug as it should be clear reading the doc that to play mp3 extra codecs are neede:

that means:

add multiverse to apt sources.list and

 # apt-gte install libxine-extracodecs
