lupdate-qt4 crashed with SIGSEGV in ProItem::comment()

I got this bug while trying to build Scidavis, a scientific graphing software.
lupdate-qt4 crashed on scidavis.pro

The problem appears to be in QT as reported here in fedora bug tracker:

Should be fixed in Qt 4.6 according to upstream: http://bugreports.qt.nokia.com/browse/QTBUG-3794
