Bug Description
I tried to install dapper-amd64-pre5 on a HP dv8000z laptop. When trying to resize (i.e. shrink) the exiting NTFS partition to make room for Ubuntu, ntfsresize failed. I switched to the log console, but could not see a error messge. I then booted from a Ubuntu 5.10 i86 install disk and tried to reszie from there. ntfsresize wrote into the log that I would have to run checkdsk /f. I did shutdown winXP cleanly before trying to resize using dapper, so I'd assume that ntfsresize started and then somehow failed in the middle.
I solved that by first running checkdsk /f, then resizing using 5.10, then aborting the 5.10 installtation and installing dapper.
