Thanks for taking the time to make Ubuntu better.

During a freeze, please try RIGHT ALT + SYSREQ + K and let us know if it restarts X for you.
If it works, then it's an X issue. If not, then it would seem to be a kernel issue.

If it's an X issue, please attach your X server configuration file (/etc/X11/xorg.conf) and X server log file (/var/log/Xorg.0.log) to the bug report as individual uncompressed file attachments using the "Attachment:" box below. Could you please also try to run without any /etc/X11/xorg.conf and let Xorg autodetect your display and video card? Please also attach the /var/log/Xorg.0.log from this attempt.

If it's a kernel issue, then please include the following additional information, if you have not already done so (pay attention to lspci's additional options), as required by the Ubuntu Kernel Team:
1. Please include the output of the command "uname -a" in your next response. It should be one, long line of text which includes the exact kernel version you're running, as well as the CPU architecture.
2. Please run the command "dmesg > dmesg.log" after a fresh boot and attach the resulting file "dmesg.log" to this bug report.
3. Please run the command "sudo lspci -vvnn > lspci-vvnn.log" and attach the resulting file "lspci-vvnn.log" to this bug report.
The full description of procedures for kernel-related bug reports is available at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelTeamBugPolicies

Thanks in advance!

Hello, RIGHT ALT + SYSREQ + K tried to restart the X, but All that I got was a blank screen with a lot of HardDisk activity for more than 1 minute, then nothing happened.
Before try that key combination when gnome froozes I just cant control with mouse and keyboard, but rythmbox kept playing, and Pidgin kept receiving Instant Messases.

The feezes reduced the frequency in last days.
Now I will try to remove the xorg.conf and see what happen.

I think it may be related with https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/363821 and https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/359392

Sintoms seems a little bit different but, since compiz was disabled my freezes reduced 99%, and I re-activated compiz for a while and in about 2 hours I got a Freeze. :(

Get previous version of intel driver may resolve these issues
