Bug Description

When tapping the trackpad with two fingers, this should apparently result in a middle click signal according to Trackpad test on the testcases ubuntu wiki:

  http://testcases.qa.ubuntu.com/Hardware/Mouse/Trackpad

However, after selecting text in gedit, tapping the trackpad with two fingers on a Eee 701SD doesn't result in a middle signal. Instead, nothing at all happens.

The same problem also occurs on a Eee 900.

This is also the case on the Acer Aspire One, the Samsung NC10, and the Dell Mini 9. It may be that the trackpads in these machines simply do not support multi-finger tapping.

After 10 minutes of investigating, I haven't been able to determine the multi-touch capabilities of any of these. Perhaps someone on the mobile team could determine which of these machines supports multi-touch?

I don't think the touchpads are multitouch, especially given the size of the touchpad.

Can you retest with current? This works for me on my Eee900 - and yes the touchpad is multitouch, at least on the 900 and the 1000, I am pretty sure the 701 is as well.

Well indeed, it works! ( Except I have to do it at least 3 times until it recognizes my fingers as such.)

Sorry for the confusion.
