gnome-screensaver and zsnes does not work together

Bug Description

If I'm playing a game in zsnes noone of the keys I press or mouse movements I make gets registered with gnome-screensaver, so after the timeout I set in gnome-screensaver has been reached (10 minutes) the screen starts to black out even if I'm there, pressing keys and moving the mouse inside zsnes.

I'm not sure if this is a problem with working with zsnes only, or with all libsdl based games.

This is in dapper with all the latest updates.

Confirmed here, too. I usually use a joystick to control the game, but even if I use the keyboard or mouse, the screensaver activates and remains activated. I usually jump to a test console with ctrl-alt-F1, and killall gnome-screensaver to get my game back.

Uses libsdl1.2, so marking as duplicate of #32457.
