Bug Description

the (actually not so) new avr-libc1.4 series introduced a new interrupt handling system, which makes avr programms written for this version not able to compile on ubuntu.
details:
http://www.nongnu.org/avr-libc/changes-1.4.html

perhaps this is enough for a UVF exception, so it can make it in dapper

Agree. Most programs generated for the new (1.4) avr-libc will not compile with the version currently in Ubuntu (1.2.3), until the user change the source code or update avr-libc from an external source.

Debian (Testing and Unstable) currently has 1.4.4-2. So this new version should make it into Ubuntu Edgy.
