Upgrade Maven2 to version 2.2.0

The Apache Maven team would like to announce the release of Maven 2.1.0.

Maven 2.1.0 is available for download.

Maven is a software project management and comprehension tool. Based on the concept of a project object model (POM), Maven can manage a project's build, reporting and documentation from a central place.

The core release is independent of the plugins available. Further releases of plugins will be made separately. See the Plugin List for more information.

Rather than typing in +1 vote, please use the 'affects me too' button in launchpad - it keeps bugs clearer for reading :).

Anyhow, this is packaged in Debian/sid now, but upstream have released 2.2.1 saying there are critical http issues in 2.2.0 - I think we should wait for 2.2.1 to be packaged; I've file a separate bug in Debian about that.

2.2.1 is now packaged in debian and should be pulled into karmic. See debian Bug#542546. Leaving Maven2 at the current version makes it unusable as a package due to its age and serious problems with the old versions.
