error on deleting image file "Couldn't access trash."

...what is with this?

this is my sysinfo: "Thank you for your interest in Ubuntu 8.10
                - the Intrepid Ibex - released in October 2008.

all i want to do is delete the image that shows up in the viewer. I hit the delete key, I get prompted "are you sure that you want to delete this image?" (which is already annoying me to death) I hit enter, it says "error deleting file, can't find trash".

come on, this is jv league.

...why, yes it *is* on an NTFS partition.

it works fine with images on my desktop.

though still I'd like to get rid of the "do you want to delete this image?" message.

while this bug is tagged as low-priority, it really is significant...I can't just run through my images and delete the bad ones.

is there any way that I could help to resolve this?

This problem also in fat32 file system.
I suggest to put options in Preferences to delete images when pressing delete key permanently.

Really this is an annoying situation. last month I faced that kind of problem. But LongPath Tool helped me to delete fixed/error file.
