By default, the $BROWSER environment variable is not set. Without $BROWSER, the wxWidgets function wxLaunchDefault

Confirming. Came here via bug 353372, where wxLaunchDefault Browser gets patched away because of this.
Has $BROWSER been defined in Ubuntu before?
