Bug Description

Ubuntu 9.04

By default, the $BROWSER environment variable is not set. Without $BROWSER, the wxWidgets function wxLaunchDefaultBrowser does not work, although other applications might be affected, too.

Confirming. Came here via bug 353372, where wxLaunchDefaultBrowser gets patched away because of this.
Has $BROWSER been defined in Ubuntu before?
