sorry clicked on the wrong button

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is either missing or challenging to deal with as a '.crash' file. Please follow these instructions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can be dealt with by the automatic retracer.

If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable apport in /etc/default/apport and restart.

If you are using Ubuntu with the Gnome desktop environment - launch nautilus and navigate to your /var/crash directory and double click on the crash report you wish to submit.

If you are using Kubuntu or Xubuntu you can file the crash using /usr/share/apport/apport-qt --crash-file=/var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash in a terminal - where _my_crash_report.crash is the crash you would like to report.
I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more efficiently. Thanks in advance for your cooperation and understanding.

Dear Sebastien,

After this crash happens apport's dialog doesn't appear at all. Is there something special with the way evolution crashes that it doesn't detect it?

I have apport enabled but there's no process named 'apport'.

Many blessings.

it might not be crashing but aborting or exiting, try to follow http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProgramCrash to get a stacktrace

Dear Sebastien,

Here's a stacktrace. I don't know what I'm doing. I blindly followed https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Strace to produce it. I'm sorry if it's unusually large.

Many blessings.

that's not the page I indicated and not useful there we need a gdb crash backtrace

Dear Sebastien,

Here's a backtrace. I have a feeling it's not good because it gave me some error. Perhaps I should have installed the evolution-dbg instead of the evolution-dbgsym package?

Many blessings.

right the log is not really useful, try installing evolution-data-server-dbg evolution-dbg libgtk2.0-0-dbg and get a new one

the crash seems to be a gtkhtml one, can you install the debug package for this lib too?
