tracker applet doesn't show what directory/file it currently indexes

Bug Description

Binary package hint: tracker

when tracker goes mad and consumes a bunch of cycles/IO you usually want to fix that by excluding directories that casue all that pain. However, you have no way to see through UI what its currently doing. Providing that info in Statistics and on mouse hover would make sense and would improve usability of tracker quite a lot.

of course i noticed this bug because of bug 353008 ... but still its important feature to see what tracker does and to get a list of actually indexed files/directories.

Changed in tracker (Ubuntu):
importance: Undecided → Medium
status: New → Confirmed

Well, we already have the dialog to fetch the statistics and we already tell the user how many files we have indexed so far out of how many we know about. Plus we give a time estimation. I did (for 0.6.92) add more states (watching, crawling, optimising and shutting down) to keep the user out of the dark.

I suppose we could include the current folder that is being processed. You will have to wait for this sort of feature though since it changes APIs which are stable right now. 0.7 is probably the earliest time we can do this.

Yes, please include the current folder in statistics and tooltip. That
would fix this bug.
