Thank you for your bug report Royden. Could you please supply more details:

Are you running Ubuntu? If so, which version?

I assume you plugging in your camera and downloading from that. Which camera? Is it being mounted like a regular external hard drive? Are you able to copy CR2 files using nautilus from this mount point? Are jpgs being downloaded ok?

Perhaps most importantly: what is the actual path for the mount point? The source directory seems very odd. Perhaps there is a bug in the way the code is making use of the mount point.

Have you tried using a card reader instead of your camera? (FYI unless you have a very new Canon, a decent card reader in combination with a decent memory card will be many times faster).

Ubuntu 9.4 beta & RPD 0.0.8~b6

Camera: canon G10

First off: I now cannot reproduce the issue in extensive tests on different systems, what with RPD0.0.8~b7 and Jaunty updates. .jpg and.cr2 files come down fine, both from a SD card reader and from the mounted camera. So all is well.

For completeness: the camera was mounted via gvfs, hence the path. I was playing with RPD to see if it could be used with a camera rather than a card reader. It does not auto-detect the camera however (should it?).

I didn't realise you could mount a camera using gvfs. How do you do that?

Regarding auto detection: Does Gnome consider it a new mount point? I've coded Rapid Photo Downloader to look for new mount points in mounted in /media only. This is unfortunately an ugly hack to work around a Gnome bug where gnomevfs.get_local_path_from_uri(uri) causes a crash.
