update-manager hangs on updating packages...

Bug Description

I can update my system with apt-get on CLI.

Until a few days ago, I could also update it with update-manager from Gnome.

Now, when I run it, I "reload" the list of available updates and I click "install", I see the terminal reporting:

[cut]
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree... Done
Unhandled exception in thread started by
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/usr/bin/update-manager", line 369, in run_synaptic
    apt_pkg.PkgSystemUnLock()
SystemError: E:Not locked

I think it's a python-apt bug, not an update-manager one. I remember updating python-apt a few days ago, maybe it's related?

Thanks, MZ.

Thanks for your bugreport.

Could you please update to the current version in breezy-updates? This should fix this problem.

Thanks,
 Michael
