Bug Description
I'm using Jaunty beta.
After installation, I try to install grub from the system where I have booted into.
The problem is that it takes about 10 minutes for grub-install to do this work. It seems to be seeking for floppy drive, which I don't have at all in this machine. As nowadays machines like this are becoming more and more common, this issue might need some sort of fix.
I execute command:
# grub-install /dev/sda
Probing devices to guess BIOS drives. This may take a long time.
Searching for GRUB installation directory ... found: /boot/grub
Installing GRUB to /dev/sda as (hd0)...
Installation finished. No error reported.
This is the contents of the device map /boot/grub/
Check if this is correct or not. If any of the lines is incorrect,
fix it and re-run the script `grub-install'.
(fd0) /dev/fd0
(hd0) /dev/sda
(hd1) /dev/sdb
Into syslog i get several errors like this:
Apr 1 02:10:13 ubuntu kernel: [69424.609171] end_request: I/O error, dev fd0, sector 0
