Bug Description
Binary package hint: synaptic
The error is:
E: /var/cache/
I'm using Ubuntu 8.1 - the Intrepid ibex - released in October 2008
Upon intial install, it gave multiple errors repeatedly (after downloading updates and while trying to install them), but upon using the "broken" filter and "fix broken packages", and after several reboots, this is the final error I continue to receive.
The 8 broken packages are: openoffice.
Using "broken" filter finds and shows the 8 broken packages that the program tells me that I have but using "fix broken packages" does not seem to resolve this error. No changes seem to take place when I select "fix broken packages" and I still get the above error and continue to see the broken packages.
Open Offce Word Processor, Spreadsheet, and presentation seem to work, but I would still like the full Open Office Suite.
I did use the "report a bug" but this is where I've been taken; I hope this helps.
