Bug Description
Binary package hint: gnome-app-install
When using the "Add/Remove Applications" front end to search for an available application, only the first search has an effect. After that, all searches are ignored until I click on an item in the list of categories on the left side of the windows to "wake it up". Then, I can do one more search.
In earlier versions of Ubuntu, the search result changed each time I typed a new word or set of characters in the search text box.
gnome-app-install version 0.5.23-0ubuntu1 is installed.
ProblemType: Bug
Architecture: amd64
DistroRelease: Ubuntu 9.04
ExecutablePath: /usr/bin/yelp
Package: yelp 2.25.1-0ubuntu4
ProcEnviron:
LANG=en_US.UTF-8
SHELL=/bin/bash
SourcePackage: yelp
Uname: Linux 2.6.28-11-generic x86_64
I can reproduce this only after a search with no results (i.e, after getting the message: "There is no matching application available."). Selecting another category as suggested "fixes" the issue till the next search with no results.
