Bug Description

Binary package hint: ubuntu-netbook-remix

I tried the Jaunty Beta Netbook remix on my ASUS EEE PC 900 (Celeron Pentium M processor). The Netbook remix menu is unusable as it is too sluggish / slow. However 3D is properly supported (compiz works if activated).

Menu is also unusably slow on EEE PC 701.

There is also some graphical interaction with the window manager unless 'Appearance Preferences -> Visual Effects' is set to None.

I have the same sluggish behaviour on my eeepc 900. I would add an option to turn off the animation on the application icons.

Confirmed also on the Eee PC 900. Cursor is jumpy and slow when hovering over icons in netbook launcher. Compiz does work but there are display issues (gnome panel does not display, tray icons display only on update, windows disappear). Have not yet taken the time to explore other applications outside the launcher.

EEEbuntu 3.01 (NBR) running slow (aswell as UBNR)

Seems the intel integrated graphics bug for 9.04, still hasn't been solved.

@Emanuel: this bug is a duplicate of bug #349314. Can you have a look at the comments on that bug to see if any of them solves your problem please? Also make sure you are running kernel 2.6.28-15 by typing the following in a terminal window:

uname -r

which should then return:

2.6.28-15-generic
