Bug Description

Binary package hint: banshee

If I run out of play queue, I would not like Banshee to start playing whatever remained selected when I created the play queue.

I suppose this might be something users don't agree on, so perhaps it should be a preference.

I believe what you're looking for is Playback->Stop when finished. I'm
closing this bug since this is already implemented as a checkbox in the
menu. Also, for the record, I _would_ like Banshee to continue playing
whatever was previously selected.

Thanks for the quick response and immediate remedy. I looked for it in various places but I suppose the wording on this option was too obscure for me. Perhaps it should be rephrased, although I cannot quickly come up with a better way to say it (succinctly).

This was a bug in past versions, but was fixed last October. It's possible you're still using a version that predates that fix though; which version are you using?
Also, as I just mentioned upstream, there is some unintuitive behavior that happens with the Play Queue:

Like my earlier response indicated, Chow Loong Jin's answer already resolved it for me. The original submission contained the version number. But I'm grateful for the additional explanation; I have been struggling with the actual queue manipulation, too.
