Bug Description

Binary package hint: openoffice.org

OppenOffice 2.4, Ubuntu 8.1,

OpenOffice Menu names disappear after I try to install an application that is not part of Ubuntu to reinstall Ubuntu to get the application to behave correctly. I tried to install a content filter (for Ubuntu) then the menus in open office also turned to dashes (see attachment)

From a fresh install of Ubuntu (no content filter needed), go to System>Preferences>Appearance>Fonts

Under Rendering, select Subpixel Smoothing. OOo menu text should now be perfectly visible with no lines.
