Bug Description
Loaded Ubuntu Studio 9.04 Beta and everything seemed to work like a dream on my IBM T30 Laptop.
I loaded a few more programmes such as Open Office, Vlc, Mozilla Thunderbird, Firestarter, Clam Virus Scanner and a programme called FastStone Image Viewer which I use under Wine. All these programmes function exactly as they should.
Then I looked for updates and almost all of them loaded except ofr a few entries which I think are to do with Timidity.
I hope this helps.
Keep up the good work,
Martin Shaw.

Maybe this is the same issue as my problem: ubuntuforums. org/showthread. php?p=7063842# post7063842

I purchased a new hard drive for my laptop and did a clean install of Jaunty beta (amd64, alternate installer). The install went fine -- better than any Ubuntu installation ever.
After the install I was greeted by the proprietary driver notifier, and I told it to use the recommended nVidia properitary driver. After that installation succeeded, I restarted.
Then I used update manager to install the available updates. However, that failed with the following message.
