select html elements don't respect theme

Bug Description

In Firefox (and other browsers) the select html element (aka dropdown) always uses black text, despite the selected theme settings for gnome. This is a problem for dark themes where windows are dark and text should be light. See attachment for example of how text in dropdowns are barely legible (if black was the window color, you couldn't read them at all).

If not, please try running firefox in safe mode and see if that fixes it. If so, it might be some extension that you are using.
