hi Pedro,
i try to do a backtrace, after following the wiki above , added all needed in sources.list, and updated the repos, i can't do anything else coz of:
Lecture des listes de paquets... Erreur !
E: Vous avez dépassé le nombre de descriptions que cette version d'APT est capable de traiter.
E: Problem with MergeList /var/lib/apt/lists/ddebs.ubuntu.com_dists_intrepid_universe_binary-i386_Packages
E: Les listes de paquets ou le fichier « status » ne peuvent être analysés ou lus.

I've removed /var/lib/apt/lists/ and update again, but same problem
Own translation for you:
- out range number of descriptions that APT version is able to treat
- <<status>> can't be analyzed or read
note that when i open synaptic, that warning appear and synaptic close.

hi Pedro,
after googling about that, i follow ideas described on https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apt/+bug/24626
but increasing Apt:: cache-limit to very high value, do not resolve the problem (bug reported on 2005 and still "confirmed low" !!!)

seems that: ddebs.ubuntu.com_dists_intrepid_universe_binary-i386_Packages is the key of problem
if i don't use that repo, is backtrace be available ?

can't find a workaround: i've disabling the last added repos to be able to use synaptic again
