Bug Description
Under Preferences, then Main menu, if "Root Terminal" is checked so that it will appear, when clicked on, it will not run in Jaunty Alpha 6. It crashes. In Terminal, a sudo su command will work so perhaps others have not seen this.

Thank you for your bug report. I'm assigning this to gnome-terminal, because x-terminal-emulator points to gnome-terminal by default, and I can confirm this behaviour. When running from the terminal, I see:
chr1s@chris- desktop: ~$ gksu /usr/bin/ x-terminal- emulator chr1s@chris- desktop: ~$
Failed to contact the GConf daemon; exiting.
If you want a root terminal, open your terminal emulator and run:
sudo -s -H
