Bug Description

Binary package hint: gtkpod

The error message suggests compiling the the mp4v2 library. (However, this would mean moving gtkpod into multiverse to gain access to mpeg4ip. How does Rhythmbox handle m4a?)

There is a gtkpod-aac package in multiverse that is built with libmp4v2 support.

Rhythmbox uses GStreamer, I assume this is how it handles m4a, but GStreamer's API is very complicated and I can't re-implement all of the MP4 code in gtkpod to use it.
In the devel list there have been talks about making the mpeg4ip discovery dynamic, to avoid two packages.
