problem on activating propietary drivers

Bug Description

The first time I tried to activate the madwifi alternative driver for my Atheros card (AR242x) the program crashed, I tried it again and could succesfully acivate the driver, the problem is that now I don't even get the wireless option to configure, my desktop widget disappeared (the desktop folder one) and now I can't deactivate the driver, that's it, any help welcomed.
