Bug Description
Binary package hint: thunderbird
From here: http://
I attempted to implement this by moving all messages from before 1/1/2007 to a local folder. This was a total of 4,600 messages representing ~ 200MB.
The operation took some time, and when it was completed, all messages had been removed from my inbox, but only about a quarter of the messages were stored in my local folder. It appears that the remaining messages are empty headers like this:
From - Tue Mar 24 13:49:42 2009
X-Mozilla-Status: 0001
X-Mozilla-Status2: 00000000
I am using Thunderbird version 2.0.0.21 (20090318) from package
mozilla-thunderbird
version 2.0.0.21+
This program just irretrievably destroyed over two years' worth of email for me. I should hope this receives a high priority.

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but this appears to be a "regular" (non-security) bug. I have unmarked it as a security issue since this bug does not show evidence of allowing attackers to cross privilege boundaries nor directly cause loss of data/privacy. Please feel free to report any other bugs you may find.
