nautilus doesn't update xdg-open

Bug Description

Binary package hint: nautilus

There is a related bug here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/209714

But this is not the same bug! That bug refers to gnome-open (which does the right thing since that bug was fixed), not xdg-open (which doesn't).

Steps:
1) Install okular
2) In nautilus right click a pdf file and set okular and as your preferred application under the open with tab
3) Open the file with xdg-open from the terminal
4) Evince will run instead of okular

Unfortunately, this means firefox tries to open PDFs with evince instead of okular (it seems to use xdg-open). I'm running a stock ubuntu install with gnome, except I've swapped out the xmonad window manager for metacity (I launch nm-applet, gnome-power-manager, gnome-panel, etc. in a script, so gnome-session isn't running, which maybe why firefox is using xdg-open, or maybe it was just patched).

that's an xdg-open bug not a GNOME one
