Bug Description

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-input-wacom

In Intrepid following the advice here https://help.ubuntu.com/community/WacomTroubleshooting I was able to get bothe the stylus and mouse functioning correctly.

However after doing a fresh install of Jaunty I can not get the mouse to function at all.

By adding the recommend from the link above and restarting the machine if I apply the mouse to the tablet the cursor shoots over to the left and won't move from that point until I remove it and use the stylus instead.

My assumption is it is an issue with the way that x.org and the driver function now. (I could of course be completely of base there though)

Hi davmor2,

Please attach the output of `lspci -vvnn`, and attach your /var/log/Xorg.0.log (and maybe Xorg.0.log.old) file from after reproducing this issue. If you've made any customizations to your /etc/X11/xorg.conf please attach that as well.

davmor2, could you please attach your /etc/X11/xorg.conf file too?

Lool

tjaalton has a fix for this on his ppa

It is now working perfectly with mouse and stylus. I don't know about the button on the pad I think they need mapping to stuff.

But at your request one xorg.conf file coming up :)

davmor2, if that was the xorg.conf you used, then this bug is invalid, since you didn't even have any lines for configuring the wacom devices in it (in that case the only thing that can really work is the stylus).

Timo's ppa packages use another method (a fix from Fedora), and if enough people report that it work he might put them in Jaunty.

Can you confirm that was the xorg.conf you used so this bug can be closed?

Right sorry Lool

In sorting this out with Timo I did a fresh install and forgot.

I had the same xorg.conf but with the lines from the intrepid example added. By adding those lines the mouse and tablet were correctly recognised but put the mouse on the tablet made the cursor shot over to the left.
