Bug Description

I just installed jaunty jackalope but no flash media is working, youtube, google maps (street view)
I tried to reinstall the flash player, and I got this message.

andrew2@andrew-laptop:~$ sudo apt-get install flashplugin-nonfree
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
flashplugin-nonfree is already the newest version.
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 1 not upgraded.

Im not sure if I am missing something or if there is a bug.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Flash is working fine here.

Is the flash plugin registered in firefox? (look inside about:plugins)
Is this bug still present after creating a new user? (Sys->Admin->User/Groups->Add user)

Changed in ubuntu:
status: New → Incomplete

I have the same problem. Some flash media is working but most are not.
For example http://www.dilbert.com flash cartoons are not working here.

The same issue, I try to reinstall the flashplugin-nonfree, and looking at about:plugins doesn't appear.

Try to move .mozilla to .mozilla_old and don't works.

The firefox tells me to install the flashplayer, installs it, restart firefox and the problem still continues

Fixed by executing on terminal the below lines:

sudo apt-get remove --purge flashplugin-nonfree
sudo apt-get install flashplugin-nonfree

I have the same problem. Jaunty. Tried uninstalling firefox and adobe-flashplugin, flashplugin-nonfree and flashplugin-installer.
Did not help. Solution from Fransisco: "sudo apt-get remove --purge flashplugin-nonfree
sudo apt-get install flashplugin-nonfree"
did not solve it either. Another user had same problem.

Strangerely: dilbert.com does work: I can view all the comics and browse back. Megavideo also worked.
Tudou gave a message: install flash, and a link to click. It tries to download and install an older version of flashplayer from Adobe.

No idea why.

(If I copy the libflashplayer into the firefox-3.0.10/plugins directory, the screen is just black where normally the player appears when I use Tudou, for example.)
