Java does not function correctly!

I do not know why, but my own apps written in java do not run the same way as under windows. In windows usually it does work properly. But under Ubuntu everything is slower. One can see it working with awt oder swing in eclipse.
Please fix the jvm and eclipse. Something does not work.

At a minimum, we need:

- the version of Ubuntu you are using
- the version of the Eclipse you are running
- the version of Java VM (java -version)
- the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the problem
- the behavior you expected
- the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible)

Hello
I am using Ubuntu 8.10, the jvm is version 6 sun jdk. Eclipse is 3....
The maschine is very slow and behaviour is different each time I run the app. The app has Gui and Threads.
