Bug Description

I always have this problem whenever I try to update ubuntu 8.10
It happened exactly after I added new languages as I think especially French language (I am not sure it concern with language but it happened after that).

hey just had this problem wubi = yes but the bug link above (252900) is with 2.6.27-7.16 not
2.6.27-7.19

@MCAD2008, looks like a wubi setup from your kernel boot command:
[ 0.000000] Kernel command line: root=UUID=A03B-C9B5 loop=/ubuntu/disks/root.disk ro ROOTFLAGS=sync quiet splash

Or at least an installation over a loop device probably on a filesystem not supporting symlinks and it's very likely a dup of 292900
