Xorg crashed with black screen after clicking on notification from thunderbird

Binary package hint: gdm

I clicked on a notification from thunderbird and after that my screen went black. i tried raising the sḱinny elephant but nothing happend.

i found following error in syslog with matching time(last message before reboot(reset button))

Thank you for reporting this issue, it helps make Ubuntu better. Please answer a couple of questions.

1. Is the problem reproducible?
2. What are the steps we need to take to reproduce this error?

This will help. In the meantime, I will mark this bug as incomplete.

i tried sending me a mail to force a thunderbird notification. then i clicked at it like the last time but nothing went wrong. -> not reproducible, so far...

That message is most likely an Xorg crash, rather than a GDM bug. Please attach your /var/log/Xorg.0.log and /var/log/Xorg.0.log.old straight after you experience this again. Also please try to obtain a backtrace, following the instructions at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/X/Backtracing

There is nothing to suggest that's a duplicate, other than the common message "gdm_slave_xioerror_handler", which is a generic and quite meaningless error message.
