Bug Description

I am using Ubuntu 8.10 x86_64 and inkscape 0.46-2ubuntu2

The issue is flowed text being transformed differently to its container.
Steps to reproduce bug;

1) in a new inkscape document, create two boxes
2) create two text objects
3) for each text object, 'flow text into frame' into one of the boxes
4) group the boxes and their text
5) move the group to a different position
6) ungroup

The text does not remain in its flowed container, but is transformed to a different position (it appears to be in fact transformed by the same amount as the container - but RELATIVE to the container; i.e. it effectively gets moved twice). Moving the boxes still affects the flowed text, but the text is in the wrong position.

A pre-release of the upcoming Inkscape 0.47 is now available in Ubuntu
Karmic for testing. Because *so* much stuff has changed compared with
the version you reported your bug against, would you mind re-testing
this new version and see if this bug is now resolved?

Karmic Alpha CD ISO images are available at:

  http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/karmic/

If you're not testing Karmic yet, there are .debs of this new Inkscape
for Jaunty, Hardy, and Intrepid here:

  https://launchpad.net/~inkscape.testers/+archive/ppa

You might find further bugs when testing this alpha release. If that is
the case, please file a NEW bug report here:

   https://edge.launchpad.net/inkscape/+filebug

Thanks ahead of time for your testing efforts, and enjoy the new Inkscape!

Thanks for your attention to this issue.
Unfortunately I am still able to reproduce this bug in Inkscape 0.47~pre1-0ubuntu1 in a fresh install of Karmic alpha 3 running as a guest in Virtualbox (host is Ubuntu Intrepid). Both host and guest are 64-bit versions.

As an addition to my original report, if at step 4) above, the boxes are grouped (and NOT the text) and the grouped boxes are moved, the text remains in its original position. Ungrouping the boxes now has the effect that the text jumps back into the boxes in their new positions. Grouping/ungrouping text alone behaves as I would expect (no additional transformations).

Also in addition, I have noticed the following behaviour;
1) Create box and text
2) Flow text into frame
3) Select both text and frame and move to a new position
4) Group text and frame in the NEW position
The text jumps back to the original position.

All these behaviours are the same in 0.46 and 0.47, so I am initially not adding this as a new bug against 0.47

I am happy to continue testing, and please let me know if I can provide any further help...

On OS X 10.7.5: based on tests with current stable and with archived trunk builds:
- reproduced with Inkscape 0.91 r13725,
- reproduced with Inkscape 0.91+devel rev <= 13934,
- not reproduced with Inkscape 0.91+devel rev >= 13935,
this issue as originally reported seems to have been fixed in rev 13935:

Remaining issues, or variations which still cause text-flowed.into-frame being displaced unexpectedly on ungroup should be filed and tracked separately.
