Bug Description
Binary package hint: usplash
I have an LVM encrypted drive. When I start up, I can start typing the password, but when the bouncing progress bar thing reaches the right edge, the middle of the screen gets filled with static, and as far as I'm aware the system locks up (ctrl+alt+delete works)... maybe it is still working, but nothing is being updated on the screen.
This happens every time, and always as soon as the progress bar thing gets to the right hand side.
If I modify the boot parameters and get rid of "splash", then I can start up fine.

Oh, I should also add that I've been running jaunty for a bit, and this only just happened with the most recent update which changed the theme.
