Bug Description

Package: Official Ubuntu 8.04 and 8.10 CD-ROMs.

Environment used for testing: Sony TZ laptop with Windows XP installed.

Goal: Create a dual (Ubuntu/Win XP) boot.

Summary: Hardy and Intrepid installations freeze at the partitioning stage when trying to set up partitioning manually and going back and forth through partitioning screens.

Steps to reproduce: Start the installation. When coming to the partitioning stage, choose the manual partitioning and change a partitioning decision multiple times, going back and forth through the screens.

At some moment, the screen completely freezes and all control is lost - powering down the machine is the only option.

On the other hand, when making a partitioning decision once (without going back and forth through the screens), the installation proceeds normally.

Observed with both Hardy and Intrepid.
