I just had a complete freeze while running the system update. After a cold restart, Synaptic reported a problem. After running sudo dpkg --configure -a Apport came up with this message.

It seems that due to the crash some files in /usr/share/ gconf/schemes are now 0 byte, eg. /usr/share/ gconf/schemas/ gnome-terminal. schemas
Is there a way to reset these schemes to default? Ithink this could probably solve the problem.
