Bug Description

Hello,

At the moment hp-toolbox looks for kdesu. Since this tool is a bit deprecated now, and often hidden in an obscure path, could you implement PolicyKit support in hplip ?

An easy workaround is to add kdesu's path to the $PATH variable (for me it's /usr/lib/kde4/libexec/ ) but this workaround won't work once kdesu gets completely wiped (same goes for gksu)

thanks in advance,

Regards

So does it use the cups-pk-helper D-Bus API?

How about using IPP authentication when D-Bus (or cups-pk-helper) is not available?

Come to think of it, why do we even need hp-setup? Distributions ship their own print queue management tools -- are they not sufficient for some reason?
