=======================
Some time ago, my Evolution upgraded. I'm sure it's been three or more months. I had rules working to locate emails by words in the subject line, then move the email to a specified directory. That stopped working.

I have several rules built, but am unable to make them work. I thought that ctrl+Y might be the enabler, but that didnt work.

humblest apologies if this is not a bug. read the manual. Still couldnt get it to work.
Tom

Ok,
I'm going to go thru the process that I believe to be correct...
(pardon the excessive detail)

Preface:
several folders are created and available.

Objective: create a rule that moves all mail that enters the inbox
folder that has the phrase "AT&T" in the Subject line to a folder named
AT&T>

1) CLICK on Edit > Message Filters.
2) Ensure that the select box labeled "Show filters for mail: has
"Incoming" in the box.

3) CKLICK on [+Add]. This will cause the "Add Rule" window to display.

4) in the dropdown box below the button labeled [+ Add Filter Criteria]
select "Subject".

5) ENSURE the dropdown box to the right displays "contains".

6) In the box to the right of "contains", TYPE "AT&T".

7) Under the bold text "Then", ENSURE the dropdown box is displaying
"Move to Folder.

8) CLICK the dropdown labeled "<click here to select folder>", THEN
SELECT the folder named "AT&T", THEN CLICK the [OK] button. This will
close the folder selection window.

9) GIVE the Rule a name in the top window. "Move AT&T"

10) CLICK on the [OK] button to save the rule.

***The rule is now established (as I understand it)

Now, to test....

1) CREATE a new email message addressed to yourself. The message should
contain "AT&T" in the [subject] field.

2) SEND and RECEIVE the message. The message should display in the
"inbox" folder.

*************************************************************************
AS THE MESSAGE IS RECEIVED, THE ACTIVE RULE EVENTS SHOULD BE TRIGGERED
AND THE MESSAGE CONTAINING "AT&T" SHOULD BE RELOCATED TO THE "AT&T"
FOLDER.
*************************************************************************

I do not know what the trigger event is, or if there is an enable
feature to start the rules into operation other than the check box
adjacent each rule.

Hopefully, this will reveal my error, or something that didnt get
patched properly. I could have had a timeout or something during
upgrade.

Have a great day!

Tomm
