Bug Description

Binary package hint: wine

It isnt only wine that wouldnt install. Its any program. I've tried endless pages on google looking for people with my same problem, But to no avail. Same problem, but no solution worked for me.

I'm Growing Frustrated :(

I just want Skype :(

Ubuntu 8.10
2) wouldnt go through in terminal.
3) For wine to install. As well as skype for linux. Had same error occur.
4) Got the errors that both ended with : package `libportaudio0' is missing final newline

I'm pretty new to Ubuntu. I just have been googleing and trying whatever they had done that said they were solved. Nothing has worked, though.

Your installation appears to be broken, likely from some other bad instructions you followed - Wine is only the latest error on that log, there are many others before it.

Ways to go about fixing it?
I have no clue where to begin.
