Bug Description

I have installed one previous Jaunty alpha version using ext3 and never had the system hang for no apparent reason. Now the system (x) hangs on the average of once every 2 hours for no apparent reason. I can't find a pattern because it happens, sometimes, when I am doing nothing and sometimes it happens when copying files to an external drive. It has happened. 4 out of 5 times the system is sitting idle when I find it locked. Please let me know what I can do to help triage this bug. I can recreate the bug by just letting the system idle. What logs would be helpful?

This bug is a duplicate of bug 330824. Unfortunately, the cause of the issue seems to be related to many things and the bug is not easily reproducible on all hardware. However, there is already some work done to help fixing it and this bug is already fixed in the currently in development next ubuntu version karmic koala.

According to this, I'm marking this bug as a duplicate. Any further discussion should take place in bug 330824.
