Bug Description

Binary package hint: phpbb3

--
Installed: 3.0.2-3
Release: 8.10
--

Expected: phpBB3 should ask me to setup admin accounts during the install process using dpkg. There is no package configuration during the install process.

--

Occurred: phpBB3 doesn't properly ask me to setup an admin account.

This is probably due to the fact that it doesn't properly install with postgresql. No db is configured and you must use dpkg-reconfigure to set it to tcp and repopulate the db.

Still, when you get it working and you browse to server.com/phpbb after symlinking apache you get the main phpBB page without an install directory stating that the "board is disabled."

I'm left going through the database to try to reset the admin account. Any ideas?

If the database is populated with the initial values, you should be able to log in with user 'Admin', password 'admin', see /usr/share/doc/phpbb3/README.Debian.

What are the issues with setting up the database automatically? I only had to change the configuration in /etc/phpbb to connect to localhost (so that passwords can be used instead of ident auth). At least some time ago on Debian the program worked fine after this.
