Bug Description

On a Intel GMA 950, the screen dims as if it is going in to idle mode whenever i play a game that uses 3D graphics. This problem existed on Ubuntu Intrepid, but I am still experiencing the same issue on Ubuntu Jaunty Alpha 6.

I have so far noticed this problem while playing (or attempting to play) UFO:AI and Open Arena.

Acer 5720 Laptop, Intel core 2 duo T7300 (2ghz),2gb Ram, Mobile Intel graphics media accelerator X3100. After booting the screen does the odd flicker but when playing games like SuperTuxkart or Secret Maryo Chronicles the screen dims. An Acer shortcut is "Fn+rt.cursor key" to increase brightness but it does not now work properly and there is no progress bar (something new appears in the top right corner but disappears. The brightness goes up and down and you have to try and stop it on bright. But it soon dims again. This did not happen on Intrepid (or any other).

My screen dims (as if going idle) while playing prboom (windowed) and Quake III Arena (full screen) - it's probably related to input capture.

I'm also experiencing this behavior on Ubuntu 9.05 netbook remix on a Dell mini 9 with a GMA 950 while playing Unreal Tournament 99.
