Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-ppp

Hi Guys

Just an interface problem. I launch Gnome-ppp. I enter setup.

If I click on either Init strings, phone numbers or DNS:

There are variable and data pairs to select. If I click twice in one data pair (ie Init2) I get a space where I can enter text.

I enter my text and then click close.

My data is not saved, there is no prompting or warning. When I click close my data just disapeers.

This is a big issue if I am entering long connection strings like AT+GCDCONN,"31","3netaccess","ppp"

If you hit enter after entering the data or if you click on another variable pair you are ok. but if you click close your typong disappears and it is rather frustrating to work out what happened.

It seems that you have to run gnome-ppp as root.

Right click on Applications in the Gnome panel. Select Edit Menus -> Internet -> Gnome PPP -> Properties -> Command: gksudo gnome-ppp

Hope this helps.

This is how the text entry widgets work. You need to hit enter after entering your data. This isn't a gnome-ppp bug.
