Bug Description

In the preview tab, it would be nice to provide quicker / easier access to the actions :

* enable the same context menu as on the Session tab
* show common tools :
  - in panel just above the preview image
    - edit button
    - upload button
    - execute plugin drop down
    - rename button
    - zoom slider

  - in right hand info panel
    - click (or double click) on the filename to trigger a rename action
    - click (or double click) on mime type to change its format
    - click (or double click) on geometry to scale image

Changed in shutter:
importance: Undecided → Medium
milestone: none → 0.85
status: New → Confirmed

The delete button should also get into the panel!

Only Edit and Upload will be added to the panel. Delete is available in
Screenshot -> Delete, as it is not such a commonly used action.

In my opinion it is. Often you don't need a screenshot on your hard drive but just want to upload it. Then the common usage is: take a screenshot - (maybe edit the screenshot or execute a plugin) - upload the screenshot - delete the screenshot. With the 0.6x series it was perfectly solved by the thin menu bar where you had buttons for all of these actions. But with 0.70 and the removal of the menu bar the usability has become worse (just my opinion).

It definitely improved as all elements are clearly labelled now and now just
pictures that, until you memorize them all, make little sense.

Your use case does make sense however - but I don't believe that it's that
important to have the delete button on the toolbar though. How about adding
an option to not save screenshots to disk?

So when toggled, shutter wont save any of them to disk, and if you have an
important one you'd like to preserve, you'd do file-> save.

Yes, I think, this is a very good solution. Such an option could be somewhere in the deeps of the preferences dialog since it is needed only once when creating a fitting profile. Maybe this thing should get an extra bug report/blueprint?

Yes this is a separate issue, I will file a different report.

What do you guys think of a configurable toolbar (like in eog)?

@PhotonX: You can also use the keyboard shortcuts to use all the options quickly. "Del" moves the screenshot to trash.

I think a configurable toolbar would be a useful idea, but for defaults,
stick to ways to capture + upload + edit.

Well, a configurable toolbar would be the non-plus-ultra, maybe even a bit oversized (but if it is doable and won't make Shutter slower it would be great). :)
