Bug Description
Binary package hint: cups-pdf
For security reasons I decided to restrict access to my home directory for all users except for myself:
$ chmod 700 $HOME
I realized that when I try to print to PDF printer, it fails to generate the file in the directory $HOME/PDF. However, if I set my home directory to default permissions:
$ chmod 755 $HOME
, it succeeds. I don't know much details on this, but perhaps the printing process should take the effective user-id of the invoking user so that it would be capable of writing into $HOME/PDF without problems.

700 permissions on my home directory work fine for me in Karmic. Is this still an issue for you?
