Bug Description

libconfig++6 is in debian testing and sid at page:
http://packages.debian.org/squeeze/libconfig++6
but it's not in ubuntu jaunty:
http://packages.ubuntu.com/search?suite=jaunty&section=all&arch=any&searchon=names&keywords=libconfig

This package is needed for some applications that use cmake, for example i need it to compile the ldc compiler

I tested the package in pbuilder-jaunty and it works fine, i also tested the compiled packages and i'm now able to compile ldc.

As pointed on #ubuntu-motu, jsut a sync request is enough in this case.

This sync looks fine to me. Debian Bug #438683 explains how this package is not the same libconfig that was previously in Ubuntu and Debian. The binaries in this package do not share the same names as the ones in the old libconfig, so people upgrading should not have any problems. ACK #1 from me.

I'm a bit confused about this being required for packages we already?

ScottK, this package is not the same libconfig as the one previously in Ubuntu and Debian. This is a completely different application that just happens to share the same name. Think of this as a new package uploaded to Debian after DIF that was never in Ubuntu.

Then nack. It can wait for Karmic.

NACK from me as well.

I agree with Scott here. This package doesn't bring anything that we should have in Jaunty at this point. We can release Jaunty without this package included.

It will be automatically synced when Karmic opens its doors.
