Bug Description

Binary package hint: kdebase-workspace

KDE always starts with no plasma, when my laptop is mounted in docking stations and when I try to start it using the krunner, I get this crash.

Also, the resolution is incorrectly identified in the laptop screen and kdm is starting with some low resolution instead of the laptop screen resolution of 1440x900.

The only way to start plasma is to remove the laptop from the docking station, start plasma (using konsole) and then mount it back.

I don't have this problem with Intrepid KDE 4.2 and it was working very smoothly. So it looks to be a problem with the jaunty only.

Thank you for your report!

However, processing it in order to get sufficient information for the
developers failed (it does not generate an useful symbolic stack trace). This
might be caused by some outdated packages which were installed on your system
at the time of the report:

phonon-backend-gstreamer: installed version None, latest version: 4:4.3.1-0ubuntu1

Please upgrade your system to the latest package versions. If you still
encounter the crash, please file a new report.

Thank you for your understanding, and sorry for the inconvenience!
