Alpha 6 Live AMD64 Install Failure - HwDetect Failed Code 141

Trying to install a clean Alpha 6 AMD64 live build onto my system, Ubiquity appeared to crash and then I was exited to GDM with an automatic login timer counting down. Then I was re-logged in with no explanation as to what was going on.

Digging further I noticed this in my syslog:

It seems this code 141 HwDetect failure results in being booted to GDM and then being logged in again.

Marked as regression potential as previous Alpha live cd releases have installed ok.

Hmm. Is this reproducible? It looks as though X crashed.

I think we'll need /var/log/Xorg.0.log.old from after the crash in order to see what happened and whose fault it is.

Hi Colin, I downloaded the current daily ISO 20/3/9 and re-tested this. I did not encounter the 141 code and the system has installed as expected. I assume the various changes to the build since I last tested it has resolved the problem. Marking as fix release.

I got the same error "HwDetect Failed Code 141" on x86 daily build 20090323.
I am using intel G35 motherboard, P5E-V.

This problem is reproducible.
And I am trying to get the log.
