in the Appearance control panel, clicking a theme shows a new custom theme selected

Bug Description

To reproduce: in Jaunty, start the Appearance control panel, and click the "Human" theme (with another theme currently selected.)

What should happen: The theme changes appropriately and the Human theme is shown as selected in the control panel.

What does sometimes happen: The theme changes appropriately, but then a new Custom theme is shown as selected, with a preview matching the Human theme.

It's intermittent. Maybe it's related to the timing of applying the theme vs updating the dialog?

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. I believe what you are experiencing is actually the correct default behavior. Say you changes from Human theme to the Mist theme it will continue to be called Mist until you do something to customize that theme's control, colors, window borders, icons, or pointer. Once you do that the theme is changed to custom theme because you customized it. This is beneficial because then you can save that particular customized theme so that you may reuse it later. If you have any questions please ask. Thanks!

That's fine, but that's not the situation I was reporting. The theme
was shown as 'custom' even when I've made no customizations.

fwiw I can still reproduce this in Jaunty, but only intermittently:
about half the time the correct theme is selected and sometimes it
jumps back to Custom. Perhaps it's some kind of race condition
between the Appearances dialog and the application of the theme.

It happens when a part of the theme (icons for example) cannot be found on the system.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. A new version of GNOME Control Center is available on Maverick and we are wondering if this bug is still an issue for you with that version? Could you please test and comment back? Thanks in advance.
